We employ powder metallurgy to manufacture high-voltage tungsten-copper contacts:
- out of the mixture of W and Cu (high copper content)
- by the infiltration of a tungsten matrix with copper (low copper content)
The starting powders have a high purity (W ≥ 99.9%), fine electrolytic Cu powderes. Because of its properties (Table 2) W-Cu is used for:
- electrical contact materials
- welding and erosion electrodes

W-Cu products can also be cast in brass, aluminium, etc.
